The Chaperone by Laura Moriarty was a great book to listen to while baking cookies. Loved the period details as much as the story.
No Way Down: Life and Death on K2 was armchair travel similar to Into Thin Air. If you like one you'll like them both.
Diary of a Worm was such a fun book. I enjoyed it as much as the kids did.
The Backyard Homestead: Produce all the food you need on just a quarter acre! should come with a warning: caution this book will have you thinking of plowing up your grass and growing kiwis instead.
Purge: Dark, gripping, disturbing, suspenseful, subtle, complex, beautiful, powerful, mysterious.
I've been tracking the book's I've read on Pinterest. Follow me there if you're interested. Or if you want to see even more of my feeble attempts to tweet, you can follow my brand newish twitter account.

I loved Into Thin Air. Thanks for the recommendation for No Way Down--this is the first time I've heard of this book but I'm glad you mentioned it!
ReplyDeleteI've wanted to read The Backyard Homestead, but my husband does not want to come home to a brood of chickens and seed wheat in the backyard. :)
ReplyDeleteJust stopping by from the Twitterature link-up. I'm adding The Backyard Homestead to my to-read pile. Not sure if I can pull it all off in our neighborhood but I'd love to learn more! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI'll repeat what Anne said - loved Into Thin Air, so I'm happy to learn about No Way Down. Just requested it from my library!
